Well I guess you still didn't get my point, Like I said each group has a job to do, the anti piracy group is suppose to stop piracy. When it comes to crimes such as rape,etc, the Cops,local authorities,etc is suppose to stop that, not an anti piracy group. You know I had a website where I shared illegal files such as movies, music softwares and etc.. it was hosted with hostgator and one day I got an email from cyber crime stoppers asking that I would shutdown the website or they would be forced to take legal actions against me.

They knew everything about me, and I had private protection on my domain i was paying $10/yr through godaddy.

Now it sounded really legit but I'm still not sure if it was a prank or the real thing.

I didn't reply back and just shut down the website, I was scared because they listed all this information about me, who my dad was, who my brother and site were, phone number full address.

Well umm goddady gives away your info quickly to authorities so thats why they had your name, But why would they tell you they know your parents,etc?

maybe it was someone who knew you and wanted you to shutdown your site so they scared you?

How does that protect themselves? EVERYONE is traceable. it takes a matter of time. A VPS or DEDI isnt going to stop someone from finding you that really wants to find you.
