Well this can all be avoided. i found out the hard way as well when I used to sell Nl hosting, I had the server on a hostname under my main domain which whois was registered to me.

First off get a domain and use whois privacy for your nameservers and hostname. Make sure it is a domain you can lose, you can even use fake data. Encourage your clients to use external dns or be on standby in case of changes.

Do not link that server's hostname to any of your sites, do not host any personal site or hosting site that can be traced back to you on this server. Nothing should be able to be traced back to you in any way, if you do it like this you can ignore the requests just like the nl datacenters.

If you have any domain, hostname or ns domain, or email address that can be traced back to you, you WILL eventually have problems. The antipiracy people can be very annoying with phone calls and such and can even sue you. Then worse yet the authorities can get involved.

No matter if your server is in an untouchable country or not, you are responsible for it and can reap the problems

Selling this type of hosting or having a site with such content is easy but the problems are too much. You can make money in legit hosting or a legit site, it just takes longer and more work. You will be better off in the long run not to even mess with any copyrighted content, those days are coming to an end.

let me get this , server is .nl and you are in india, then how the hell is DMCA appicable to any , DMAC is American law restricted to American borders, the laws of the country where your hosting and you personally stay are in charge NOT A DMAC notice , DMCA is just a notice to provide a safe harbour to ips.and you can also counter claim that too!! look inot your coubtry's law , i don't thnk india even has any laws regarding this , the copy right ammedent act which was to be passed last year has again been delayed for another 2 years atleast.

and how the in god's name they got your REAL number !!!!

hey like i said even i got a prob like this i have whois guard on my domain but brein got my number and called me they even asked me to shutdown my forum well i just blacklisted bit defender close my forum for some hours then reopened it and im thinking of moving out of nl and going to a country like russia or estonia just waiting for the host to add alertpay as option.but i must say these person are indeed annoying

loool i have privacy gurad too but number really belongs to brach of a famous take away plus the address is also all wrong and of cource aall payment methods will lead to a dead end too. move to PRQ or france brein is also hot air , he just goes after samll fish it is perfectly legit in .NL to host or use copy right material for personal use, you should just not be charging for downloads that is profitering which is bad ethics too , you can run ads and take donations and all , that is legit. Brein makes nosie and gets publiccity but has no real guts to after real guys. the only big thing he got was usenet to shut down from .NL and that is cause usenet charges a fee for members to use high end service.

Your NL hosting means nothing...

I've received court appearance notices through snail mail and all that in the past regardless of where I was hosting. Had websites suspended and what not. You'll find once they threaten your host you will get suspended pretty fast (in most cases) regardless what your host says about ignoring DMCA notices.
