hello,

A lot of people get fed up waiting for like 24-72 hrs for their domain propagation.

In simple terms : After you assign a new nameserver in your domain control panel, it takes 24-72 hrs to reflect your new host.

There is a simple tweak you can do. Which will result in your system (PC) instantly propagate DNS. That means after you followed all the steps, soon after you change the nameservers, your internet browser instantly shows the propagated content (you don't need to wait for 24-72 hrs)

p.s : This will work only for you. If you want this to work in other PCs, you need to follow the same steps in all PCs

Really wanted to see how your website is going to be without waiting?

Follow these steps :

Firstly you will need to find a file named "hosts" and open it using any text editor.

In windows, the file is in here;

Code:
%windir%\system32\drivers\etc
Note : %windir% is the windows root directory like c:\windows

Then, you need to know your IP address. For Ex :

+===================================+
| New Account Info |
+===================================+
| Domain: domainname.com
| Ip: 64.69.46.210 (n)
| HasCgi: y

You'll need to add these lines at the end of the "hosts" file.

Code:
64.69.46.210 www.domainname.com
64.69.46.210 domainname.com
*please note that you should not add the prefix "http://" infront of the domain names.

Please save the file, and you'll be able to browse to your site immediately

Note: If you want to access your site using other computers, you'll need to do the same steps to them.

-Do this tweak at your own risk-
