Wordpress Multisite

Can anyone help me how to setup Wordpress multisite

I mean when someone register automatically sub domains are created based on that username

A step by step guide will be good

What i did so far

1. Installed Wordpress 3.1
2. Added define('WP_ALLOW_MULTISITE', true); in config.php and i see the network option and installed it

I have followed http://codex.wordpress.org/Create_A_Network

But i cant make it work
