The so called offshore hosts

<begin rant>This is kinda a rant against all the people in the scene that believe they are good when being hosted at an offshore host. Let me tell you all that you are even safe in the USA. It all comes down to the following question:"What will your host do once they receive a DMCA complaint?" Don't forget that even if you are offshore and your host get's a DMCA they can still decide to shut you down, it's not because you are offshore you can't get shut down.

All those countries such as Hong Kong, Chine, Iran, Irak, ... are kinda the best because they almost never shut you down, and that's probably because they can't even understand english if they get a DMCA, they prolly think it's spam or w/e

I know some people who are hosted in the USA right from the beginning and they never had to switch hosts, I really don't get why all of you are so 1337 about offshore hosts...

What I'm trying to say is: In the end the location doesn't do shit, it all comes down to what your host does when receiving a complaint

But probably many people who are "jealous" of your site complain to RIAA and others.
The sites running on the US Server might be good as hell and they might not have much haters so they never got any complains !
Still my thoughts can contradicted ....

Yes but they can shut you down easily in the USA since the servers are there... Not to mention if you personally live in the US and host your sites there, you could get arrested...

If you're not from USA you could start a site onshore (unless you're living there) and later move to an offshore host, but not in a country where you live (f.e if you live in NL it's not offshore for you anymore )

I have to agree I don't care what anyone says i was hosting with godaddy for months before i moved servers

once it becomes a legal threat, US based hosts will terminate you. no matter what. no body wants to have law suit on their hands to have a couple extra bucks per month for someone warez linking.
Offshore, even if they make the complaint, they just make the decision whether or not its worth the money/risk. most of the time the threats cannot be followed through so the hosting company allows that person to stay. thus why offshore is pretty much risk free,
you have a nulled script. ie: vBulletin. Jelsoft will take you down. (the host) especially if the site is big.

I think i do accept your statement , but , the difference is :
When you are hosted at offshore host, if police is after you , all you get is website shut down . But if you are hosted at the USA , they can impose money retributions on you , or jail .
Am i right?
