    17000+ files deleted this week by Filesonic. Only around 3000 files are now left in my account. Is it possible that many files got reported by DMCA? I have never had more than 2K files deleted in a week before this.

    deletion is automated using a script they devised i think. they have a huge list of flagged filenames and the script does wildcard searches on the web with google's help and deletes in bulk all files it finds. at least that's how i take it.

    To both of you.

    1. You can always backup your files by using the Copy option from the right pane of the Filemanager.
    2. If you want to see which files are removed you can Click "Removed (xxx)" link from top of the filemanager page. It will have all files which was removed from your account. Due to obvious reasons.

    So if they have a script to detect names/keywords shouldn't we be naming our files a38fhs3.part1.rar

    Dunno if that helps. Haven't tried it. My files are always named after their release names. Do your files that have weird filenames still get deleted?

    @techdaemon

    I'm not sure myself either, but I got files deleted today, I'm going to try using wierd names for my new uploads and see how it goes.

    If I use wierd names and they still get deleted then its pretty much someone on my site reporting the links as opposed to your files showing up on search sites like filetube, hotfile search etc they see "Copyright release name.rar" and they report those links.

    Any of you guys know anyway to randomly generate wierd names? PornDome.org seems to be doing that.
