I said add bytes to the end of the file, i.e. zeros which do nothing but take up space. There was a tool to do this in the old nettools package.

Nah, adding a random char doesn't break anything.
I've yet to see something fail because of it.

So I'd go for SalmanAbbas007's method. Or banbuster
