before I click on post, it looks pretty garbled (messy)

Try leaving banner (image) on top, and
try this plugin http://www.dagondesign.com/articles/...for-wordpress/

or at least try adding </br> after you finish line

also, not possible to copy link:



because it breaks theme, add "code" in style.css, make it less wider
