I have no idea why,some of my posts lately start with:

I will name few facts and then make a prologue of this topic.

1. Rapidshare, not so long ago, introduced, points (read rewards system) where uploaders earned shitload of rewards (amazon vouchers, mouses, cameras, headphones, and other gizmo's, they were selling premium accounts from points etc....)

2. They are original starters of REWARD THE ADVERTISER (uploader) TREND.

They've removed it, simply, because they had to, to not get accused how they pay for illegal files spreading (ofc we all know that is a bullshit, they used uploaders to advertise their own service, just like any other file-host does that same thing today, following their model). Also, second reason is that they were in a lawsuit, so that was something that was demanded from them.
We all know which kind of rewards they were offering for uploaders
(headphones, mouses, cameras, mousepads, USBs, and amazon vouchers)


There were no books, lamps, toys, vacuum cleaners their reward system was specifically aimed to warez uploaders who are PC freaks, age ranged from 16-24, sitting at home, who actually need new logitech G9 mouse, or 8GB USB.

So....

My question here is:

How come no one screamed: "cashwhores" back then, to all uploaders who uploaded on rapidshare?
How come ALL SINGLE ONE DDL site preferred RS links among all other links?
Does no one remembers that RS allowed only 200MB (100MB) per file, and 15-45 minutes waiting time between 2 downloads?

Simple comparison:

Rapidshare: 200MB for free users
Fileserve: 2GB for free users download limit
Rapidshare: 128kb/s download speed for free users (if you are lucky)
Fileserve: 400kb/s
Rapidshare: waiting time 45 minutes
Fileserve: recapthca


Ups and downs?
I remember times when Rapidshare had more downtimes per links that fileserve ever had, but wooo, why would anyone remember those

Rapidshare=nothing special, they lost battle against DMCA and co. in some points, but they won it overall.

What makes you believe this file-host is any better for uploading files, than any other? Just forget about rewards for a second,and take speeds, files life, accounts life, filesize limits, free downloaders limit, waiting time, etc...what rapidshare offers better, for Wrz stuff, that any other file-host?


Another thing...how come, lots of coders, developers, and rest of the crew, that are indirectly making money from warez, aren't cashwhores?
Some people are selling Ads (Katz, warez forums, image hosters)
Some people are selling servers, VPS, shared hosting, knowing what and how it will be used
Some are selling applications for easier uploading
Others are providing SEO services, on warez sites.

ETC ETC ETC...

Eventually, most, if not everyone here is making money out of warez
There is one catch here:
Since there is a lot of bots lately, people can run autosites and earn money, and not tell anyone here that they are doing same thing, and come here to preach about cashwhores, and have that attitude.
They can make scene-DBs and yet allow links from fileserve & filesonic.
Do we know they aren't running some bots behind?

But, hey, anyone noticed what this site is all about?


EDIT: I used fileserve just as a comparison file-host, more or less, they all offer better things from Rapidshare, from the ones I named.
