Starting a tech blog is MUCH MORE than just installing wp and slapping a skin on it. It requires lots of time, effort, resources, writing skills, etc.
There are lots and lots of competitive tech blogs out there, and its very difficult to catch up to their level (i said difficult, not impossible).
So think again and good luck

The tech blog niche is way too saturated. If I were you I wouldn't limit myself to one single niche, I would write about everything. Use Google's Keyword Research tool to find uncompetitive keywords that are getting < 10,000 searches a month and write 5-10 articles targeting those keywords.

If your article ranks first for a keyword that's getting say 3000 searches a month, that brings you roughly 100 unique visitors a day for that particular article, all you have to do is then scale it up and target more keywords to get more traffic and more money.

Don't waste your time with keywords that have too much competition, doesn't make any sense to work your ass off for a keyword that's getting 30K searches a month when you could be lazy and target 10 keywords that get only 3K searches a month.
