DMCA and Blogger

i started a blog one year ago on blogger just as the hobby.

There i started to put the links of television theme songs (Indian).i uploaded each song to at least 10 different file sharing sites

Now unexpectedly it grew quite bigger than my thinking, at the same time one of my friend gave me a .in domain for that blog which does not give privacy protection.

Now it has links of about 1000 songs of tv seials theme song (all are of indian tv shows). These all songs are non-commercial i.e. they are not available in market and i also provide them free.

now recently i came to know that one indian tv channel removes even the videos of its tv shows theme songs (i dont know how a promotional video can affect the commercial interest of some media group).

so after seeing it i put the dmca page on my blog so that if that company gets some EGO problem from my blog they can contact me through it.


now i want to know that if this company complains to blogger directly, will they remove my blog just after receiving the dmca application or they will first send me a warning letter.

Chances are always there, its better to convert your blogspot into wordpress and host it in offshore place. Google how to convert it.

They will send you a notification.Keep an eye on dashboard.you will get your notification on both in your mail and dashboard.Most possibly they wont delete your full blog they will contact you to remove a particular page.There is nothing to worry about.keep a backup of your blog both template and posts.I hope you know how to do it.Good luck.

I don't want to open new thread or something,
I have question related to this subject.
If I have blog in blogger + domain (with my details, not with privacy), they can demand me ?
or just delete the blog and that's it?

if your domain is showing your real details then i worry and if i was you is change host asap and get privacy domain

but if we share the things which are copyrighted but are non-commercial i.e. they are not available in market and will not come in market should that also be considered as warez or piracy or should it come under "fair use" of DMCA

Yeap, i'm with most of them here regarding backups. If possible, create a full backup (Settings -> Basic -> Export Blog) daily just in-case. Anything can happen. They might not notify you and close your blog (in certain cases but better be safe than sorry).
