Well the way how "traditional DDLs" as you put it operate is that, you add a link to the DDL on all pages you would like to submit to them, and then you submit the download pages' urls as well as the download titles.

The rules differ from DDL to DDL but they generally have the same concept, submit clean titles and unique links in your posts and you'll be accepted.

    For example:
    You would go here: http://zunox.com/submit.php
and you would start by entering 10 downloads that you have on your site, filling in the appropriate details.

Then when the download queue on Zunox is accepted, your downloads will appear on our main page. People searching for those downloads will then be sent to your pages via an iframe and they grab the direct links from your pages. Sometimes if the downloader likes the layout/design etc of your site, they will bookmark and come back later.

    That's how traditional DDLs work.

Are there any other requirements to being accepted? Minimum volume, content type, etc? I'd assume it just varies from site to site.

    Very informative

These sites appeal to people who know what the scene is, and what to look for. The vast majority do not.

    To just being accepted....not really.
But to request re-rates to achieve higher rankings, different DDLs have different rules and guidelines. Some you need to upload to specific hosts, others you need to surpass a certain number of submissions.

Staff also take into consideration your site's design, layout, ease of navigation, number of ads and general community feel of the site before re-rating websites.

You're my GO-TO site last time. I like how you guys have MU links which is really difficult to find nowadays. There used to be automated sites like dedicatedtv but it went down as well. Props on getting the site back.

In no time, you'll be one of the top DDL sites. Maybe you could work on SEO? I don't think you need to do lots of advertisement. Just go to the proper channels and you'll get the hits. Like you said earlier on, your site got popular via word of mouth alone.

Right now, i think your site is the only automated one. The rest of DDL relies on uploaders. Please correct me if I'm wrong. So your site is definitely leading. I for one will spread about SceneDDL.

As for http://ddlrank.com/, I'm not sure if this holds true, but I've heard that the webmasters pay to be listed on DDLRank.

Edit: Why not contact http://filenetworks.blogspot.com/ You'll get lots of hits if they publish about your site, that's for sure. I remember Filesharefreak did an article about your site once. Here you go: http://filesharefreak.com/2009/09/22...eneddl-return/

@kennt - There are many other automated release sites that popped up after the closure of SceneDDL v1. Also nobody pays to be added to DDLRank.

    mmm mmm!
    Don't rely on DDL traffic.
HATERS GONNA probably bring up some valid points considering I am an ignorant little twat so far up my own ass that i blame my problems on everyone and if you criticize me you're automatically wrong.
