What is AECleaner?
AECleaner is a system optimization, privacy and cleaning tool. It removes unused files from your system - allowing Windows to run faster and freeing up valuable hard disk space. It also cleans traces of your online activities such as your Internet history. This latest release adds a powerful feature; Registry cleaning, it cleans up your Registry and removes un-used entries.

Based on the old xCleaner I coded a few months ago, updated code and new LUA engine.

Good job but these tools are yet to be proven that they actually speed up the system. All of the above would save you only relatively small space, and don't get me started on cleaning the registry gives you a performance boost myth.

Such programs usually give the user the illusion that a lot of work has been done with lots of flashy 'error fixed' message whilst the errors are harmless and have no effect whatsoever on the performance of the machine.

Cleaning the registry has NEVER been proved to affect the performance. Dead links / shortcuts / file extensions / default apps / entries have no performance effects. The only way your registry could affect the performance is if it was corrupted, in which case CCleaner and co won't fix it but only a reinstall of the OS would.

DNS Cache I wouldn't really recommend to keep that enabled by default, it will slow everything down without the need for it, the caching process has a benefit that it saves valuable resolving time. Sure a refresh sometimes is good but I assume people who fall for such programs will use them frequently, and cleaning the DNS needlessly isn't serving any purpose.

And to clean the browser data I think all modern browsers enable you to do that option in a click or two.

Been on the same OS since the first leaked version of Windows 7 came out, and my system is still as fast, if not faster due to newer driver upgrades.

Edit: Ironic since I own a warez website, but my once leaked version now runs on a genuine key Maybe somebody from MSFT is reading this and decided to tear me a new one, who knows?

Okay, first of all this tool combines a few smaller tools. Then I've added my own Windows tweak tools which are useful. So you can clean up the whole system in one click.

And about that registry cleaner, if you are a developer you will know how it works and what it does.

Feel free to use this, or just not.
