There's only one important thing when it comes to the webmastering, and it's: DON'T SPAM.
That's the only thing you're not allowed to do. If you want to have a successful Website, you don't want to spam. As if you spam, Google will pick up threads about your site with bad feedback and you're basically fucked.
You can say goodbye to being a member on forums for Webmasters + you wouldn't be able to say anywhere that you own that site.
If you want money, make your site as much as user friendly you can. You obviously can't get money that fast, patience is the key.

StoneArcade.comMy best tip on this,on the earning online bit anyway, is to not start with the idea you will begin earning TONS of money straight away. That is the problem i see here all to often, everyone throws up a site and expects it to be a cash cow right away with little to no work put into it. Concentrate more on quality content and a nice clean look, and eventually you will begin earning.

You should think about your site from visitors perspective.
I'm sure that no one wasn't to see a site with 3 big affiliates banners and ads everywhere around it.
Improve your site daily, ask for reviews, ask for comments, ask about everything.
Don't rush into making money at the first months, not until you've atleast got a stable visitors base and you think they are enjoying your site as much as you did while putting effort and time into it.
Don't rush into selling ads neither, wait for some time.
Don't Spam members inbox every week, that's how you get a bad reputation.
Invest some money on buying a decent server for your website, don't go with the Cheapest Provider.
Quality, Unique, User Friendly, these are the main keywords to building a successful website.
Best of luck to anyone who is new and is willing to put effort on working on it.

@pakman
You're right, at least partially. There is one big difference between a site created for a certain group of people, out of boredom and out of wanting to become rich.
There's nothing wrong with neither one of them. We all want to help to someone, we all do certain things out of boredom, and we all want to become rich.
It's just that everything depends on the start, the way you do it. Someone can't be bothered to be nice to people, and some people have no ideas how to get members so they pick the bad side, the spam side. Which pretty much blacklists the online identity they used for spamming.

For complete beginners who wanted to create their own website, i would suggest them to start off using a free web host and a free sub-domain provided as a head start. Firstly, it is free and it allows you to get the basic ideas on website development, and secondly, you can avoid going through many complicated procedures that appear to be intimidating at the beginning. The reward of creating and owning your own website for the very first time will keep you motivated and easier for you to continue moving on.
HATERS GONNA probably bring up some valid points considering I am an ignorant little twat so far up my own ass that i blame my problems on everyone and if you criticize me you're automatically wrong.
