What is DDoS attack?

I use a free rapid leech server growl to upload on filesonic & wupload. today a message appears that they have been attack by DDoS attack. What is it? Is It make any harm to my pc? Do I need to change my all account pass? I am confused about it.

It means someone has collected lots of PC's with a virus and is making all of those PC's send connections to the server preventing anyone else from connecting

Nope, your PC is very unlikely to be infected by this virus, you'll just have to wait until the person stops attacking or your server company fixes the problem

The company who owns that website will have a server company, that server company will be the ones who fix the problem, or the site owner will change server company.
