To add a new forum click on the forum tab on the left.
Now you need to choose a forum type, enter forum's url address and give it a display name.
There are many forum types mostly used are
- phpBB 2.x
- phpBB 3.x
- vBulletin
- IP Board #1 - Basically from the old version to 2.x versions
- IP Board #2 - Basically for the new versions of IPB
- The Poster Supports many other forum types like
- SMF 1.x
- SMF 2.x
- myBB
- Discuz - only forums with no captcha in the posting page.
- Discuz X - only forums with no captcha in the posting page.
- Icy Phoenix
- punBB
- miniBB
Enter forum's url address. Url must be global (not to a specific file) and without the ending slash.
For example: http://myforum.com or http://myforum.com/forum or http://forum.mysite.com and so on.
Give it a display name. Anything you want for you to recognize the forum.
Charset is for recieving and sending message in specific encoding, so that symbols could be interprated the right way.
For all english forums you can leave it as default 'UTF-8'.
For non-english the default sometimes works just fine, but usually you specify a custom charset.
You can probably google charsets which is recommended for any language.
The forum will appear on the right side in the forums list and you will be able to select your forum when adding a new topic in "My forums" drop-down box.
And You Are Done Adding a forum in a correct manner.

A template is basically a sub-forum in the forum to which you would like to create new threads.
To add a new template click on the topic tab on the left.
Now as you can see you will need to choose and fill in some data.
- Choose a forum type: there are few built-in forums, for example "Adult", "Various" etc. or your own forums from "My forums".
- Choose a forum.
- Choose a "create thread" type.
- Select a user.
- Enter forum id which you want to add. You can find the id of forum at the forum url address.
For example:
http://www.petchat.co.uk/wallpapers-f18.html
http://www.perved.com/showthread.php?f=101
If you don't see the forum id just click the "new thread" button. Then you most likely will able to see it.
- Choose a section for this template.
Finally press the "Add template" button. And you're done.
The template will appear on the right side in the templates list and you will be able to select your template when posting.

Yeah that's a good idea, I've seen the same stupid questions asked over and over again, despite the fact that the issues have been covered in the faq.
