That question has been asked ever since the message boards started. There are few methods, basically the easiest one is to have friends, to be normal, to connect with other people. But, as we all know Webmasters aren't that friendly, hence they have less members than a Harry Potter fan forum.

Best way is to be friendly, worst way is to spam other boards.

Worst way is to spam other related niche boards but you ll get targetted free traffic

i think for discussion board you can try rottentomatoes

or you may find some good boards at big - boards
