Dovecot and Postfix Help

Hello,

I have installed first postfix and after dovecot.

i tested postfix sending email and tested it. it works.

but i unable to test dovecot because its not allow access to my account to login and test send email i dont have idea WHY ?

So i currently lost my regular server alert emails on attacking IPs, suspicious scripts, high server load and even SSH login alert. the reason is server default mail system stop due to postfix installation and configuration.

So i request to you if any one have know how to configure both of so kindly guide me step to step.

I just installed dovecot for sending and receiving emails on pop3, smtp and more other options. also for creating email IDs easily through squirrelmail etc.


So any help appreciated.
