EastsideHosting.com MediaONAIR.com ImgWiz.com cPadmin.net EastsidePCWorks.com HostedTalk.comExternal Drives always do this;
Simple, Solutions;
- Reboot Computer
- Unplug USB...wait about 30 Seconds and plug it back in.
- Try a different USB port...If you're using the front ports, try the back ones. (USB ports do burn out)
- Try powering down the external drive (has it's own power souce) and USB options above...
- Try a different computer/laptop...if same result - it's not your computer. It's the drive itself and maybe possibly overheated.
- Try keeping it completely unplugged from wall and usb while you're sleeping (try when you get time)
- If all fails...hard drive probably failed and which is why I don't buy them. Buy Internal and External Caseing with proper cooling is way better.

Another test of the drive would be remove it from case and stick it in computer if you have a matching connection (pide or sata).
If not there are several good data recovery software like getdataback you can use to try and save the data.
