How they can earn money with this site only by placing some ads, I saw an ad about smilies or something.
I think they lost more money than they earned.
Do u think there is another way how they make money with this?

it depends for what for he created this webpage, maybe he just needed real members to get emails of users. That might be used for much more.

He's either building a list, testing something, or getting paid per ad impression. Just a guess.

it's a viral page... people "like" it and then you build up traffic - therefore, you'll get ad money. I've done this before, I managed to get up to 800 people online at once, stopped site now though because it died out after 3-4 months
