Semi Dedi Under Attack, Any Fellow Can Help?
Hello guys, i have a semi dedi from rapidspeeds and what i suffered is hectic level of server loads and busting apache often from past days. I am pretty noob in server things but last time Gavo helped installing csf and configured for me. I raised the security level in csf to high and tried. Also i believe i did mod invasive to protect apache. But still its under threat. Could any one help me out finding if its really a ddos/http flood mess or server trouble.

HotNewHipHop.comSemi-dedi's are just like shared hosting, So I believe your protection should be up to the host to secure the server you and other members are on. Unless you are on something different.

Semi-Dedicated is like a VPS server where people have complete access to it. If a semi-dedicated server is directly targeted, the main server has nothing to do with it.
@JoomlaZ: If a server is attacked, mostly the server load dont' rise. If the server load is rising, there could be number of factors, like,
high traffic and your server configuration not able to handle it,
poorly coded application/plugin activated,
bots crawling the websites etc
If possible provide some more details, output of top, ps and other commands OR have someone look into the server.Linux System Administrator
Server Management at affordable cost.
