A simple backlink question

hey guys/gals, i have a question regarding backlinks

i have a website. its runs on wordpress. i have installed the statcounter plugin which basically gives you information about your visitor.where he came from, his browsing path on your site etc.

I have seen visitors being referred from four to five news portals/forums

These sites have sent me visitors around 600 in a day for the past 3-4 days. I havent posted them.so i`m feeling happy that people are talking about my site

Now to the main point-> these links dont have a nofollow,so it will count for Pagerank. the page was published on these sites a week or so ago, but still nothing is appearing when i do linkite.com nor in my google webmaster account.

these websites are pretty huge,they are in alexa top 2000, so it will be benificial for me to get backlinks from these sites both in POV of traffic and pagerank

any idea of how long it`d take before google sees these links?

I have seen linkbacks taking longer than 20 days to appear in the webmaster tools but usually 10 days to 14 days, just be patient.

ok...some links from the sites have started to appear in webmaster tools in google and site explorer in yahoo

but when i try linkite.com in google, no result why?

yes they are dofollow links
