    Default Apple Event Round Up!

Mac is the Number One Selling Desktop, Notebook in the U.S.
Tim Cook revealed during the ?let?s talk iPhone? event on October 4th that the Mac is the number one selling desktop (iMac) and notebook (MacBook family) in the United States. The Mac has seen 23% growth year-over-year, in contrast to just 4% in growth during that same time for the PC.
?Every single quarter for five years, the Mac has outgrown the PC market,? said Tim Cook, CEO, Apple. ?We?re now approaching sixty million users around the world.?

Apple Announces October 12th Release Date of iOS 5
iOS 5 Recap and New Features
Apple has given us a refresher on iOS 5, which was announced earlier this year. Some of the more important features include ?deep? Twitter integration, allowing users to share links, pictures, and more with friends directly from within iOS. Apple has updated Camera.app with the ability to access the camera from the lock screen, add grid lines, pinch to zoom, and set auto focus. Mobile Safari has gained the ability to do tabbed browsing, so you can switch pages in just one tap.
iCloud will sync documents, apps, pictures, music, and more. For free. Find My Friends, like Google Latitude for iOS. Allows users to locate others using the built-in GPS. Express sharing options are available for enhanced privacy. iTunes Match allows cloud syncing of your local music to all your devices. All music is matched to Apple?s servers, so you?ll get the best possible bitrate. Music not available on iTunes will be uploaded. Should save a lot of time compared to Google Music or Amazon. $24.99/year.

    Apple Announces iPhone 4S
Apple has updated the iPhone 4 with a dual-core A5 processor capable of 7 times faster graphics and 2 times faster CPU performance. On the outside, the devices looks the same as it?s predecessor, but it packs a much bigger punch. The antenna has been reworked to offer much better performance, capable of keeping up with 4G phones. The device is a ?world phone?, so a combo CDMA and GSM chip is built-in.
Battery life is up to 40 hours listening to music. The camera has been upgraded to 8 megapixels (60% more pixels than the iPhone 4), and includes a sensor capable of gathering 73% more light. The first picture takes 1.1 seconds to capture, and the next shot just 0.5 seconds. The iPhone 4S camera can shoot video in 1080p with real time stabilization and temporal noise reduction.
The new Siri Assistant allows users to speak in natural language to their device to book meetings, place calls, send emails, and more. More on this flagship feature here. Pricing will remain the same as the iPhone 4. Preorders start this Friday the 7th and the device will ship on the 14th. Available on AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint.

New iPod Touch Announced: Available in White, Starts at $199
Apple has announced an updated iPod touch, available in standard black and a new white model, which will be available on October 12th. The base model 8GB iPod touch begins at $199, while the 32GB and 64GB models are $299 and $399 respectively. This ?fifth-generation? iPod touch does not appear to have any physical design changes, nor does it seem to have any major hardware improvements.
Any new minor hardware changes will be announced as those details become available. The new iPod touch will support iOS 5, which launches October 12th, including features such as Newsstand, iMessage, a brand new Notification Center, and built-in Twitter integration.

iPhone 4S Launching on October 14th, Starts at $199
Apple has announced the availability date of the iPhone 4S as Friday, October 14th, making it the fastest iPhone launch since the Cupertino-based company introduced the handset over four years ago. The seven countries that will be receiving the phone on the fourteenth are the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, France, Germany, and Japan.
The iPhone 4S will be launching in an additional 22 countries, including Spain and Italy, on October 28th. The handset will retain the same pricing as its predecessor at $199 for the 16GB model, $299 for the 32GB model. As previously rumored, there is also a new 64GB model for $399.

iPhone 3GS Free on Contract, 8GB iPhone 4 is $99 Likewise
Don?t you just love when rumors turn out to be correct? Despite being over two years old, the iPhone 3GS will continue to be manufactured and maintain its spot within Apple?s iPhone lineup. On contract, the iPhone 3GS is now being offered for free thanks to carrier subsidization.
Likewise, the iPhone 4 retains its spot in the iPhone family with a new 8GB model for $99 on contract. While the iPhone 4 will still be available in both white and black variants, the iPhone 3GS is limited to just black.

Good thing for the white iPod Touch.

Don't forget to add that the upgrade to iOS5 will be free for all devices later than the 3GS (including it)
