How To Sell Adspots ?

Hello, well I'm hereby willing to sell some adspots on my site but the matter is that I don't really know how to proceed so that it's a success!!
I have already tried once, unfortunately didn't work.
Hence, now I'm creating this thread so that those who already have passed through can share their experience and give some advice to newbie like me.

Only if your site has high traffic / good PR, you'll be able to sell adspots.
This forum is much different from dp, as most of the members here are webmasters or pretty smart guys.So they only pay for anything that's worth paying.

Let's say i have about 3000 unique visitors daily do you think selling ad space may work?

For 3k UVs,selling cheaper ads might work.

Sure. You can sell ad spots for 2 or maybe 3 dollars.

It always depends on how fast you want to sell.. You can sell cheap and quick, or slow and at normal price..

But people will only pay $5 for 5-10k unique visitors.

Your PR will help your sale. From what ive seen rule of thumb is $1/1000 uv/day.

I would sell it a bit cheaper and chage extra on bold/colour as most would think its a good deal and you get what you wanted anyways. You sell alot faster this way 2.
