how to assign a domain for a vps

as in the tittle ibought a vps and want to assign a domain name which i have at godaddy

waht name servers have to be given at godaddy to assign it doamin to vps

can some one help me with this

You don't change the nameservers. Just set the DNS records to your VPS IP.

Register your nameservers with their assigned ips
using your whm panel, assign nameservers to your ips

when i assigned with ips got this message Duplicate nameserver.

He didn't say he has a WHM/cPanel, so I assume he doesn't have it. Go to your godaddy account, go to the domain settings, choose assign "A" record, and enter your VPS IP. That's it.

ya i dont have an whm panel but in godaddy i couldnt find "A" record option

Find "Set DNS" or something like that... I don't have a GoDaddy account, but there has to be something named like that... Set it to point to your VPS IP and that's all... I don't know what's so hard about it.

Change your A Records address at godaddy, point it to your VPS IP address.
