Yes, you have different earnings because your files have different sizes.
Yes, their rank system is not very good. I am usually at rank VIP, but always drop to Pro, having the same downloads and premium accounts sold.

but my downloads are 100 less per day.

I guess its depend on how much you upload and download counted in same day
almost same with hotfile rank filesystem when they still using PPD system
