5th Jan 2010, 02:28 PM #12MemberI accept that I wrote 'DE and Amsterdam' because when you just say Amsterdam, people do not take it as offshore. But when you write 'DE' or 'Germany', they get an idea that its Offshore.

L337Fx.com BeastieBay.netThanks for your appreciation. I'll fix the 404 Pages
Thanks for pointing it out.
Yes, I know, you are not trying to bash my thread
Well, mostly, people here look for Offshore Hosts. And, as they know it, NL, DE, FR & HK are in their terms Offshore.
So, as DE > FR (in terms of offshore) I purposely wrote it, but as in my experience both are equal. Last night, we had few speed problems, caused due to the migration of server to FR. But now its fixedand everything is normal now.
Still, haven't got any downtime.
I had decided to open Plutost.com on 2nd December, but I did not wanted to take a risk and give downtimes to clients. So I tested this server my self as to see for how much time it gets down in a month, and I'm happy to say that it was not down even for a single day
Though, honestly, it went down for like 2 hours straight, that was because, OS was being upgraded + cPanel VPS Optimized 3
So, I guess, that would not count as downtime.
Hope this explains all

Wait i don't understand.
So you lied about the location of the server for business?
That is not right. Actually if you would know about hosting, you would have known that people know amsterdam is off shore, giving their take on other laws, such as legal prositution and drugs. (so why not warez?)
I don't know why you had to lie =/
And yes, your website is now in France, but the IP says it is from Germany (probably the way the IP is routed).
Also, another thing i don't understand. You said your datacenter said you can have warez linking and such, but not proxies. Why do they care whether something on your server takes up a high load? (if it is your server). You should be able to run any script you like on the server seeing as how it would not affect any other servers they have.
Not only that "He said, until they(Datacenter) aren't threatened to take any action against the particular user, they will allow anything"
"threatening" means if they get any DMCA complaint saying they will sue, (which usually they do) they will tell you to remove the content. That's how DC's play now adays, they say anything just to get a server full. (that's why OVH is not really considered an "offshore" datacenter provider).
Also about you moving to hong kong if you get complaints, why don't you just move now?
Don't mean to have so many questions, but i just don't understand your methodology. (sorry).

L337Fx.com BeastieBay.net^ You'll have to have more experience to understand my methodology
(Just re-think)
I did not lie. I WAS on a DE Server previously and got shifted to FR Server. My mistake was that, I didn't edit the location in this thread as I was in college and I came home at evening (now its night) and popped directly to these replies.
Anyways, hosting proxies means High httpd usage, means High CPU usage, means High Load on server, means depreciation in the life of Server Hardware& Components.
So, I guess, thats why they did not allow Proxies.
Also, for proxies, you should go with the Intel i7 core Processor, as its one big monster on which Proxy can work flawlessly
I had got Legal Reports in the past. Some were very crucial while some were lame. I did not pay attention to the lame ones. So, the crucial ones were threating, as they sued not only the Hosting Account user, as well as the Server Owner + the Datacenter.
So I guess ^ thats 'threatening' in my words. While the lames ones just want to get the user content/upload/link to be completely erased out from the server and its over.
Also, I cannot move to a HK Datacenter right now, at present.
I'm thinking in big terms, that is, to sign up and get involved in a Legal Contract with a good provider. I would resell their servers and would thus use the server for the Shared Accounts.
So, far I have got a Japanese Datacenter, which has solely approved my application to resell their Servers.
The Japanese Servers will be allowed to have any content. There would be no restrictions.
Proxies, Adult Content, Warez/Pron File Hosting, Image Hosting, Nulled Script Hosting, Child Pornography (untill not reported), etc.
But, limited to Terrorist & Hacking Activities, that would not be tolerated at any cost.
Well, I disclosed much of my Company's future venture plans. I guess, I'll keep the rest of my plans confidential.
So, more questions ? I'm always ready for some more...

Please do not try to insult me, and say i need "more experience"
i was merely being nice and saying methodology instead of stupidiness.
You yourself said "I accept that I wrote 'DE and Amsterdam' because when you just say Amsterdam, people do not take it as offshore. But when you write 'DE' or 'Germany', they get an idea that its Offshore.
So my apologizes."
And now you are saying you really were in DE?
Please go look at a map, Amsterdam is not in Germany, it is in Netherlands.
If something has changed and Germany now owns the Netherlands i was not aware, i do know in the pass they invaded and took over (but i think that was many years ago)
[By the way =P Germany is more, how do you put it, "offshore" than France just to let you know]
As for proxies taking high load, sometimes they do sometimes they don't. And when they do, it should not matter what it does to the server, you are paying for the server itself (more actually the more you rent it every month). The hardware only costs a fraction of what you pay monthly. So i don't see where they would say "you can't host proxies because it affects our hardware" i have never heard of a DC that restricts what you can do. (i guess they have very little faith in their hardware)

Sorry, if that insulted you, I never meant to say that.
==========
Actually, I was going to write Amsterdam, but people hardly recognize itSo, I wrote DE instead, because both are Offshore
Some Datacenters are more concerned about their Hardware. So, they disallow High CPU Usage.
Ask Ecatel, they do not allow it (as this was what I had been replied, when one of the client was hosting a proxy site).
Moreover, when talking with WorldStream representative, even, she said me that Proxy is not allowed, unless you take 100% responsibility that if any Hardware problems occur DUE to the High Traffic PROXY Site, then I would pay for it.
Well, every DC has their specific terms & conditions. I have no experience of running a DC but, would eventually not allow any Proxy site on my servers even when in future I rent Rackspace and have my servers.
I would have special servers just for proxy hosting. Having Intel i7 Core, 12GB RAM, server tweaking.. it'll get even more good, when plan it to start proxy hosting in the coming future of Plutost.com
Again, sorry if my words insulted you. I never meant to say like that.

I'm not trying to dispute ARikarin, just trying to understand / have a conversation
If people do not recognize Amsterdam (which honestly i highly doubt) then you could have put NL
I just find it suspicious that you did not know that, if you so called "know about hosting" you wold know to put that
As for hosting proxies and having 12 GB. Even if you had the best processor in the world and great ram, it can still die out. You are kind of contradicting yourself =/
But either way good luck
